OnTheTown ("the app") is operated by JH Enterprises Limited Liability Company ("JH Enterprises LLC," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The short version: OnTheTown works without an account, we collect as little as possible, and we don't sell your data.
Location. If you grant location permission, your device's approximate coordinates are used to find events near you. Coordinates are sent to our event database only as search parameters to return nearby results; we do not store a history of your location. Location permission is optional — you can always type a city instead, and you can revoke the permission any time in iOS Settings.
City searches. When you type a city or zip code, it is converted to map coordinates and used to query our event database. Searches are not tied to your identity.
Saved events and preferences. Events you save and filters you set are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Business submissions. If you submit an event listing through the Business section, we collect the information you provide — business name, contact email, and event details — and store it in our database so we can review and publish the listing. This is the only place the app collects contact information, and it is provided voluntarily.
Feedback. The "Send feedback" and "Report an issue" buttons open your email app. Anything you send arrives as ordinary email and is used only to respond and improve the app.
Event listings come from third-party sources — including the Ticketmaster Discovery API, venue and tourism websites, and businesses that submit their own events. When you tap a ticket or source link, you leave the app and that site's own privacy policy applies.
Affiliate links. Some ticket links are affiliate links. If you buy tickets after tapping one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate partners may set cookies on their own sites per their own policies; we receive only aggregate commission reporting, not your personal purchase details.
Service providers. Our event database is hosted on Supabase. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store, which provides us aggregate download and crash statistics under Apple's terms. We do not receive any personally identifying information from Apple.
Business submission data is kept while the listing is under review or published, and deleted on request. Locally stored data (saved events, preferences) stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
OnTheTown is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
